Following directions, waiting for our turn, and collectively problem-solving will encourage emotional and social development. Live singing, musical play, and sensory props will have these little ones moving and grooving with their friends and eager to return to class each week! Please wear comfortable, form-fitted clothing and bare feet. 2 year-olds are strongly encouraged to have previous experience in Discover Dance With Me prior to joining DDT. Dancers attend class independently, without caregiver participation. We strive for positive experiences & excellence. If you are not satisfied with a program or service we will do what we can to earn your satisfaction. REFUND GUIDELINES The West Chicago Park District is committed to offering high-quality recreation programs and services. However, we understand that there may be instances where an event or service does not meet a customer’s expectations, or a customer is unable to participate. In such cases, the following withdrawal policy will apply. Refund Options Household Credit: Refund issued as a household credit on West Chicago Park District account. There is no expiration date on household credits. Original Payment Method: Refund issued to original payment method or via check. Cash payments will be refunded in the form of a check which may take up to 14 business days to receive. Credit card refunds may take up to 7 business days to reflect in your account. A ‘Withdrawal Service Fee’ (10% of the original registration fee: $5.00 minimum, $50.00 maximum) will be assessed to refunds applied to the original payment method. No Refunds are Offered For: • Memberships: Refunds are not offered on monthly/annual/seasonal memberships to the ARC Fitness Center, Walking Track, or Turtle Splash Water Park. • Child Care (Before & After School, Days Off School Club, Keppler Learning Center, Camp): Refunds are not offered for any absence with less than a two-week written notice provided to the program supervisor. • Programs: Refunds are not offered after the first class/program meeting date. Refunds are not offered for the following “private” programs: Personal Training, and Private Swim Lessons. Refunds are not offered after the registration deadline for the following programs unless the customer provides a replacement participant: One-Day Programs, Adult Trips, and Special Events. Medical Exemption: Medical exemption notes are accepted as a valid basis for cancellation. The ‘Withdrawal Service Fee’ will be waived upon submission of a valid medical exemption note and prorated refunds may be processed. Changes, Cancellation, and Errors The Park District reserves the right to change class information or cancel a program to maintain quality. Due to the large amount of information available, we apologize for any errors in our website and or marketing materials. Thank you for your patience and understanding when these situations arise. DONATION REQUESTS The West Chicago Park District is dedicated to providing access to various park facilities and amenitites to foster community engagement and promote recreation. The West Chicago Park District distributes and tracks all donations for complimentary passes to Park District facilities and programs. These include donation requests for the ARC Center and Turtle Splash Water Park. Who qualifies to request/receive a donation? Our recreational gymnastics program is designed for girls and boys of all ages and abilities. Our philosophy is to teach gymnastics as a lifetime sport. Classes are specific to age and ability level so gymnasts can progress at their own pace. GYMNASTICS The West Chicago Park District's gymnastics programs are designed to help children develop physical fitness, coordination, confidence, social skills, and discipline. Programs are available to children ages 1-14 and is run by experienced and knowledgeable coaches who are passionate about gymnastics and dedicated to helping children reach their full potential. Gymnastics classes are held through a joint program with the Carol Stream Park District at Simkus Recreation Center located at: 849 W. Lies Road, Carol Stream, IL 60188. PROGRAM GUIDE REGISTER ONLINE ARC FITNESS WEATHER UPDATES Tumblebugs-With Parent (Ages 1-4) In this with-parent class, children develop skills including forward and backward rolls on an obstacle course, balance on the beams, strength on the junior bars, and coordination on the tumbltrak. Parachute and other games may also be incorporated. No more than two children per adult. Non-registered siblings and more than one adult per child are not permitted. Children will be able to explore equipment at their pace. Register for Tumblebugs Boys Gymnastics (Ages 6-14) Increase muscle tone, overall fitness, and flexibility. Class focuses on tumbling progressions and basic skills on parallel bars, high bar, vault, and pommel horse. Register for Boys Gymnastics Gymnastics Level 1 (Ages 6-14) In this introduction to gymnastics class, those who are new to the sport or working on beginner skills will be introduced to the basics of tumbling and gymnastics equipment. Register for Gymnastics Level 1 Gymnastics Level 2 (Ages 6-14) Gymnasts will work on their tumbling skills such as: round-offs, bridge kickovers, and front limbers. Intermediate skills are developed on the beam, vault, and bars. Students must advance or be assessed prior to registering for this level. Register for Gymnastics Level 2 Gymnastics Level 3 & 4 (Ages 6-14) In this level, gymnasts work on skills such as front walkovers, back walkovers, and round-off flip flops. Gymnastics equipment is rotated weekly. Students must advance or be assessed prior to registering for this level. Register for Gymnastics Level 3 & 4 Baby Bug Gymnastics (Ages 1-2) This parent-child class encourages interaction and socialization while enhancing motor development through song and play. Gymnastics equipment and parachute play are introduced. Participants must be able to walk on their own. One adult per child required. Register for Baby Bug Gymnastics Dragonfly Gymnastics (Ages 2-3) Learn basic tumbling, balance, and locomotion skills to promote body awareness and coordination. With-parent classes encourage parent/child interaction and socialization. Register for Dragonfly Gymnastics Cricket Gymnastics (Ages 3-4) Tumbling and basic gymnastics skills are introduced on smaller-scale equipment for preschoolers. 3 year old participants should take a parent/tot class prior to registering for a non-parent class . Register for Cricket Gymnastics Grasshopper Gymnastics (Age 4) Tumbling and basic gymnastics skills are introduced on smaller-scale equipment for preschoolers. This class is designed to help little ones prepare for upper level gymnastics. E-Verify resources for employees The West Chicago Park District complies with the United States Department of Homeland Security (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) to verify the employment eligibility of all persons hired to work in the United States. The Park District will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. The West Chicago Park District maintains full compliance with all regulations set forth by the law and utilizes E-Verify to assist in ensuring a legal workforce. An E-Verify case will be created no later than the third business day after the employee starts work for pay. West Chicago Park District Pioneer Park Community Park PIONEER PARK This community park is located on the south side of the city. Pioneer Park features a pond, a pavilion, a playground, one WCCHS soccer field, 4 baseball/softball fields and a splash pad. The park was redeveloped with the help of an Open Space Land Acquisition Development (OSLAD) grant and completed in 2011. Splash Pad Hours of Operation: 10:00am - 8:00pm. Season Dates: May 1 - Labor Day HISTORY & WILDLIFE Pioneer Park was acquired from 1973 through 2008. The 34.55-acre park is next door to Pioneer Elementary School and features four baseball fields, lighted parking lots, a playground/climber, a soccer field, a splash pad, trails, two basketball courts, and one pavilion. The passive woodland area includes a variety of wildlife and plants, including bluegills, snakes, ducks and geese, Maple trees, and cottonwood trees. The wetland area in the southern part of the park features turf grass, reed canary grass, sandbar willow, and black willow. PAVILION RENTALS AT PIONEER PARK The West Chicago Park District has several Picnic Pavilions available for rent May 1 through August 31. Reservations can be made through our office which is located at 201 W National Street in West Chicago, IL or online. We do not reserve without payment. Annual Funds Fore Fun Golf Outing The Great Turtle Race We-Go Grill Off 2024 Accomplishments 1. Provided funds to continue the WCPD scholarship program. 2. Volunteered at various events such as Boo Bash and Frosty Fest. 3. Hosted various events such as The Great Turtle Race and the Fall Disc Golf Tournament. 4. $4,000 donated to provide free swim lessons to summer camp attendees and 100 children in the community. 5. $500 donated to purchase trees planted in Reed-Keppler Park. 6. $500 donated to Healthy West Chicago for their Fit4Fall 5k. 7. $1,000 donated to WeGo Together For Kids along with coats collected through community donations. 8. $1,000 donated to Neighborhood Food Pantry along with food collected through community donations. 9. $5,000 donated to continue Moonscape Lighting in Reed-Keppler Park.
