DOG PARKS

Wiggly Field and South Paw Dog parks are two fenced-in dog parks
where dog owners can enjoy a place to play with their dogs off-leash.

 

Dog parks are located at the West end of Reed-Keppler Park.

  

Free open entry seven days a week from sunrise to sunset.

Dog Park Guidelines

  • You are key to the dog parks’ success!

  • The dog parks are self-supervised.  Use at your own risk. 

  • Dogs must wear a current license tags and be up-to-date on shots.

  • Dogs must be on a leash when entering and exiting the dog parks.

  • Dog handlers must be sixteen (16) years or older, in the park within view of their dogs and carry a leash at all times.  No more than three (3) dogs per person allowed on any one visit.

  • Handlers are responsible and liable for the behavior of their dogs at all times, including injuries caused by their dog(s).

  • No dogs known to be aggressive may enter the area and must be removed at the first sign of aggression. If an altercation or emergency occurs, the police should be called immediately. For emergencies, dial 911, for non-emergencies call 630.293.2222.

  • South Paw Dog Park is only for dogs weighing less than thirty (30) pounds.  Small dogs are allowed in Wiggly Field Dog Park at their own risk.

  • Female dogs in heat are not allowed in the dog parks.  Spayed/neutered dogs are recommended.

  • For safety reasons, children under sixteen (16) years of age) must be under the direct supervision of an adult and are expected to behave in an appropriate manner. No running, no chasing dogs, no climbing on dog agility equipment, and no petting of other dogs unless permission is requested from the handler first.

  • Be polite: Pick up dog feces and dispose of them in waste receptacles. Remember there is no poop fairy. Failure to pick up after your dog could result in a $75 fine.

  • Cover any holes your dog digs.

  • Check with your veterinarian before bringing a puppy under the age of four (4) months to the dog parks.

  • No food is allowed inside the dog parks.

  • No spiked or choke collars are allowed inside the dog parks.

  • The West Chicago Park District and Board of Commissioners are not responsible for injury or damage to you, your dog, or other property.   

  • Any person who violates the dog parks’ rules may be removed and may be prohibited from returning
