Discover a world of adult recreation at the West Chicago Park District. Engage in art workshops, board game play, social gatherings, trips and more. Our adult programs encourage social connections, offering opportunities to make friends and build a sense of community.

Adult Cookie Decorating

Program Code: 316030

Join us for a fun, relaxing session and dive into a wave of creativity! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned baker, this hands-on workshop will teach you how to decorate six stunning theme-inspired cookies. You’ll learn expert techniques using royal icing, piping, and layering. All supplies are provided, but participants should bring their own container to take cookies home.

Social Gatherings

Each month we gather at the ARC Center to chat with our friends, enjoy entertainment and, of course, eat.

Pre-registration is required for all social gatherings so we can be sure to have enough food for everyone!

There is a registration deadline and space is limited. Note: Please do not bring a dish to pass; all gatherings will be catered.

Trivia & Tacos

Fireman Fish Fry

Members of IAFF Local 3970 will be frying up the fish once again at our Annual Fish Fry. Join us at the ARC Center for great food, good company, and a warm community atmosphere. This tasty event is proudly sponsored by the West Chicago Professional Fire Fighters Association – IAFF Local 3970. Don’t miss out on this local favorite!

Thanksgiving Feast

Enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast with all the classic favorites—turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and more. Gather with friends, family, and community members to share in the spirit of gratitude and togetherness. Don’t miss this festive occasion filled with delicious food and warm company.

Holiday Celebration

Join us for an afternoon of seasonal fun, laughter, and community. To add a little extra excitement, please bring a wrapped gift (valued at $5.00 or less) to participate in our gift exchange.

Trips

Come join us as we travel to places nearby. Whether its seeing new sights, hearing new music or trying new food, there is something for everybodyAll day trips are in cooperation with the Warrenville and Winfield Park Districts and may depart from Warrenville, West Chicago or Winfield Park Districts. Departure locations will be emailed 1-week prior to trip date. After the registration deadline, trip registrations can be refunded only if a spot can be filled by a participant on the waitlist.

Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult. 

Hegeler Carus Mansion

Guests are guided through the Mansion in La Salle. You’ll see rooms that have been restored as well as rooms in their original state, including the recently restored parquet floors on the main level. You’ll also hear stories about the family that lived in the home and the legacy they left. 

This is a walking tour that requires stairs.

Come From Away

On 9/11, 38 planes were unexpectedly grounded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, nearly doubling its population overnight. Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home Tour

Step back in time with a guided tour of Ronald Reagan’s boyhood home in Dixon, IL, where the 40th U.S. President lived from 1920 to 1923. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the home offers a glimpse into Reagan’s early life and the roots of his political legacy.

White Christmas

Celebrate the season with White Christmas, a holiday classic filled with song, dance, and festive cheer. Follow two WWII veterans-turned-performers as they team up with a sister act to save their former General’s struggling Vermont inn—culminating in a dazzling finale of “White Christmas.”
