    Our fun-filled day camps offer games, gym time, arts & crafts, field trips, outdoor fun, Treehouse play, and swimming in a state of the art facility. This is a 1-time prerequisite per camper for Summer 2026 and where you will select your camper’s t-shirt size. Then select any camp weeks desired. Make sure to select the family member attached to each item. All 5-day options are listed first, then 3-day MWF, then 2-day Tu/Th. All AM Extended Care is listed before the PM Extended Care options. On the billing screen, you may choose from the drop-down menu: “Pay in Full” at checkout or “Credit Card” to enroll in installment billing on the 1st and 15th each month.     The West Chicago Park District offers the best courts in the area. Open Gym courts available for basketball, pickleball, volleyball. Select from one of our many time slots and let's play! OPEN GYM Daily Fee: $10 (Free for Classic/Elite Fitness Members) Open Gym is unstructured inclusive activity time where the gymnasium is available to students, families, ARC members, and/or communit y members of various ages and skill levels to play pick-up sports, etc. Individuals participating in Open Gym are required to rotate in and include others in play. DON EARLEY PARK Don Earley Park is located on the south side of Washington Street in the City of West Chicago. Don Earley Park contains a playground, a catch-and-release pond, trails, picnic areas and a new pavilion. HISTORY & WILDLIFE From 1973-1974, the Park District acquired Don Earley Park. Formerly named Easton Park, this 12-acre park was renamed in November 2019 in honor of the Park District’s first supporter, Don Earley. Don Earley Park was the original home of Spooky Trail, the Park District’s annual Halloween trail. Don Earley Park includes a variety of amenities, including nature trails, a pavilion, a playground/climber, a mini butterfly garden, and a pond. The pond has a diverse population of turtles and fish. The area within the park is considered a forested/shrub wetland by DuPage County and features American elm, narrowleaf cattail, woodland sedge, creeping bentgrass, bald cypress, and eastern cottonwood. In addition, ash trees have been replaced in the park through a $10,000 Urban Restoration grant.     The West Chicago Park District has opportunities available to memorialize your loved ones by purchasing a bench or a tree to be placed in the District's park system. MEMORIAL BENCH PROGRAM The West Chicago Park District has opportunities available to memorialize your loved ones by purchasing a bench to be placed in the District's park system . MEMORIAL BENCHES Memorial benches are another way to memorialize a loved one and also enhance the aesthetics of the District's park system. Memorial benches must be purchased through the District and can be done so at any time throughout the year. Weather permitting, the installation of the benches can only be completed from April - October and will be co mpleted at the earliest possible date from the Distr ict's receipt of the bench. After installation, the purchaser will be notified of the exact location of the bench so that everyone wishing to remember their loved ones can visit it. The District offers a choice of a 6-foot bench for $2,100.00 or an 8-foot bench for $2,500.00 Benches include a 1 0.5" x 3" plaque (up to 4 lines, 28 Character Max Per Line, including spaces.) The Parks Superintendent or designee must approve memorial messages. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The West Chicago Park D istrict cannot accept memorial benches purchased outside of the framework listed above. The Parks Recreation Department makes the final determination as to where memorial benches are placed within the park system. The West Chicago Park District is not responsible for damage to the memorial donation as a result of weather or vandalism.     Located along Joliet Street on the south side of the city, Kress Creek Farms has rolling hills, native landscaping, and a small pond for catch and release fishing. KRESS CREEK FARMS PARK On a sunny weekend, you'll find plenty of activity at Kress Creek Farms since it houses our 18-cage Disc Golf Course, Chicago Bears playground and trail system. Located along Joliet Street on the south side of the city, Kress Creek Farms has rolling hills, native landscaping, and a small pond for catch-and-release fishing. DISC GOLF COURSE HOURS September 1st-April 14th: Gate Closes Automatically at 5:00pm. April 15th-August 31st: Gate Closes Automatically at 8:30pm. HISTORY & WILDLIFE Originally named Manville Oaks Park, Kress Creek Farms Park, was acquired in March of 1977. Manville Oaks Park was renamed in February 2011 to Kress Creek Farms Park. There are remnants of history throughout the park, including a historical landmark house and an old dairy barn. Train tracks border the West side of the park. The creek, pond, and nearby areas are considered a riverine wetland with oak trees, buckthorn, bluegrass, European beech trees, and reed canary grass. Wildlife includes bald eagles, red-tail hawks, green snakes, crawfish, and coyotes. Holiday Hours The ARC Center will be closed on New Year' s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day. Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and Easter will have holiday hours of 7:00am-1:00pm. Park District Leading in Technology Practices The Solar Energy Project began in 2018 with a focus on sustainability. West Chicago Park District partnered with Trane Technologies. Trane Technologies works with building owners and operators to create exceptional energy efficient buildings and maximum return on investment. The District is becoming a leader in Green Energy and minimizing its carbon footprint The project utilizes idle land and will in turn reduce the cost of utilities. Solar panels are currently being installed on the West side of ZONE250 inside Reed-Keppler Park. The 862 kW Grid-Interactive Photovoltiak system will produce 1,150,000 kWh annually helping to offset costs of 84% of energy used by the ARC Center and Zone 250 per year and will save the District approximately one million dollars over the 20 year commitment with Trane Technologies.     The West Chicago Park District has opportunities available to memorialize your loved ones by purchasing a bench or a tree to be placed in the District's park system. ARBORETUM AND TREE PROGRAM The West Chicago Park District was established in 1972 and since has been committed to creating an enhanced quality of life through effective programs, progressive facilities and preservation of parks and natural resources. The District has over 400 acres of parks, woodlands, trails and gardens. In 2018 the Park District took a new stance on tree management by completing a tree inventory and report; this launched the initiative to become an accredited Level II Arboretum. Research efforts revealed a 2,394 tree population of 106 different species in managed areas alone. Notably, Reed-Keppler Park is home to a community center, water park, artistic gardens, dog parks and band shell among many other amenities. The 100-acre park has the largest tree population in the Park District with 1056 trees of 134 distinct species and a recognizable 625 tree remnant oak stand. In 2024, the Park District renewed its Level II Accreditation, which will be in effect through 2029. REFORESTATION PROGRAM INITIATIVE & ARBORETUM INITIATIVE Trees must be purchased through the District and can be done so at any time throughout the year. However, the trees will only be planted in the spring and fall of each c alendar year. After installation, donators will receive a certificate and will be notified of the exact location of their specific tree. Donations are received in increments of $240. Once a tree has been planted, it will be added to the West Chicago Park District's virtual tree tour , along with the donat or's name. West Chicago Park District Partners with Trees Forever to Plant 30 Trees in West Chicago. In 2024-2025, the West Chicago Park District, with the support of a grant from Trees Forever, will enhance three local parks—Cornerstone Lakes Park, Meadow Wood Park, and Dyer Riverwoods Park—by planting 12 new tree species, including Autumn Blaze Maple, Burr Oak, and Hornbeam. This initiative, focused on increasing tree diversity and improving ecosystem health, will also beautify public spaces. Volunteers, including community leaders, will play a key role in the project, participating in a family-friendly event with tree planting, arts, crafts, and storytelling. View Press Release View Info Flyers Sign Up to Volunteer Tree Equity Grant for Disadvantaged Communities As part of the Morton Arboretum’s Chicago Region Trees Initiative, the West Chicago Park District has been awarded a grant to go toward tree planting, invasive removal, pruning, staff training, a forest management plan, and an updated tree preservation ordinance in West Chicago. This funding will allow Park District staff to plant 210 trees from 2025-2028, increasing tree canopy and improving tree diversity in the community. This is a huge initative towards conservation and tree maintance, helping create beautiful parks and natural areas for everyone to enjoy. What Will This Grant Support? Tree Planting: 210 new trees from 2025-2028 to help grow our tree canopy and improve tree diversity across West Chicago. Invasive Species Removal & Pruning: Protecting and maintaining healthy trees for the future. Staff Training & Forest Management: Our team will receive expert training to ensure the ongoing care of our trees. Updated Tree Preservation Ordinance: Strengthening protections for trees in our community. A Comprehensive Forest Management Plan: Developing strategies for long-term tree health and sustainability. Why Does This Matter? This is a huge step toward conservation, improving air quality, enhancing green spaces, and creating beautiful parks and natural areas for everyone to enjoy.
