As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak widens across the state and region, the West Chicago Park District continues to be proactive in taking guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health, the DuPage County Health Department and the Center for Disease Control.
The health, safety, and well-being of our patrons and families is our priority. Due to recent events and public health concerns, the following steps are being taken. Thank you for your cooperation during these unexpected times.
Access to ALL Park District Facilities will be closed beginning on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
The ARC Center will remain open for election day as a polling center.
Reopening of facilities is uncertain at this point due to evolving circumstances, please keep posted for updates.
Staff are working on contingency plans to address the effects on programs, rentals and memberships.
We ask that you follow CDC recommendations to prevent the spread of illness.
This includes staying home if you are sick and washing your hands often with soap
and water for at least 20 seconds.

Have you any reports of the virus in the facilities?
No, we have not had any reports of our patrons having the virus; however, there have been several reported cases of people infected in DuPage County.
How long are the facilities closed for?
We have a tentative reopening date of April 7th but will adjust as necessary. Please visit we-goparks.org for the latest updates.
What steps are you taking to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus?
We are closing our facilities for a full 3 weeks to eliminate the risk of the virus in facilities.
During the closing we are having our Contracted Janitorial Service thoroughly deep clean every surface, entryway, control panel, desk, structure and equipment to eradicate any possible contagion.

Will my rental still take place?
At the time, all /birthday parties are being pushed back until after June 1st. Any parties originally scheduled prior to this date have the option to reschedule (subject to availability), if unavailabe a full refund will be issued.
- As information evolves, renters will be contacted for additional date changes if needed.
What happens to my membership when the facility is closed?
EFT Members will not be charged for the month of April.
Single Month and Pay-in-Full Annual Members will have their membership expirations extended for a Full Month.
Will we get reimbursed for cancelled classes?
Yes, remaining fees for cancelled classes will be refunded the same way they were paid for at the initial time of transaction.
Will I still be able to register for classes while the facilities are closed?
Yes, you may visit we-goparks.org to register for classes online.
Treehouse- Will I receive a refund for the days you are closed?
Monthly EFT Billed Memberships will not be billed for the month of April. One month and Yearly Paid in Full Memberships will be extended one month
Will I be refunded for missed swim lessons and Aqua Zumba?
Yes, prorated refunds will be issued for canceled classes.
Before and Aftercare Care Program
Will I be refunded for school days not in session in March?
Yes, refunds will be issued for the days school was not in session.
Will I still be billed for April dates?
Yes, the EFT will run April 6th barring any new changes.
Will the End of the Year Celebration and Graduation still take place?
At this time we are planning on a limit of two guest per student. Event is subject to change.
How will I be compensated for days missed?
You will receive a refund equal to the amount of days missed.

What Senior Socials will be cancelled during the COVD 19 outbreak?
Both the April Police Chicken Luncheon 4/9/20 & the May Older American’s Month: Get Fit 5/14/20 have been cancelled.
Will the 80 & Over Event on Sunday, 5/3/20 be rescheduled?
No, this event has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
Will Daddy Daughter Date Night or Mom & Son Nerf Wars be moved to another date?
Yes, once we know when the Park District and the ARC Center will be open for business, we will choose another date for this event.
What if I can’t make the new date for Daddy Daughter Date Night or Mom & Son Nerf Wars?
Anyone that can’t make the new date for Daddy Daughter Date Night or Mother Son Nerf Wars will be refunded in full.
Are you still taking registration for Daddy Daughter Date Night or Mom & Son Nerf Wars?
Yes you can register online at we-goparks.org using program code: 512017-01 for daddy daughter date night and code 512018-01 for Mom & Son Nerf Wars; rescheduled dates will be announced for registered participants.
Will the Easter Egg-Stravaganza be rescheduled?
No, since this is a Holiday event, we will not reschedule for 2020. All registered participants will receive a full refund.
