New Grass Soccer Fields Coming to Kress Creek Farms Park
West Chicago Park District Executive Director Gina Radun shares what’s taking shape at the Park District’s largest park, including plans for new grass soccer fields, a walking path and additional parking.
West Chicago Park District is putting an underutilized area at Kress Creek Farms Park to work for the community with new grass soccer fields coming to the park on the south side of West Chicago.
The project will transform a large, currently unused area of the park into grass soccer fields available for community use and rentals. The fields will be designed to accommodate different sizes of play, with the space able to support up to two additional full-size fields.

The project is being made possible in part through a generous donation from Earthwerks, the project contractor. The Park District is grateful for Earthwerks’ support and investment in this community project.
Once complete, the new fields will create additional opportunities for soccer throughout the Park District and provide more flexibility for field use. The additional space will also allow the Park District to rotate soccer activity from Cornerstone Lakes Park, giving those fields time to rest and recover.
The project is already taking shape, with the fields scheduled to be seeded this fall. Plans also include a new walking path and additional parking to support the expanded use of the park.
Kress Creek Farms Park is the West Chicago Park District’s largest park and is already home to an 18-hole disc golf course, FootGolf course and Chicago Bears-themed playground. The addition of soccer fields will bring another recreational opportunity to the park and make use of an area that has previously gone unused.
More updates will be shared as the project progresses.
