Youth - Keppler Academy For Preschoolers
Back to main youth page

Welcome to Keppler Academy, a warm welcoming place where all children are unique, special and can develop at their own pace. Children will learn through play and many hand on experiences. Caring teachers will encourage every child to try new things, meet new friends and promote independence. Children will learn by investigating the world around them. Keppler Academy is held at the Reed Keppler Cabin Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 to 11:30am for children who are 4 years of age and Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 to 11:30am for children who are 3 years of age. All children need to be toilet trained prior to attending. Each day will include morning welcome, table activities, centers, circle time, snack time and outside time. Occasionally we will take field trips to places such as the library, police station, fire station, etc. Keppler Academy will follow the District #33 school schedule. If your child has special needs and will need extra assistance, we ask that you register your child at the Park District 10 days before your child's start date so that we may find a compatible aide.
Keppler Academy's philosophy is all children learn through hands on experiences, exploration and positive interactions with others around them. Every child is unique, special and will develop at their own pace. We will foster an environment that will help all children succeed emotionally, physically and socially. Every child has their own learning style and will be given many options to explore and build on these abilities.

We believe that children learn through play. They will have many opportunities to explore and experiment in different areas throughout every day. As children play they are learning about the world around them - problem solving; social skills; large and fine motor skills; communication and language; creativity. Caring teachers will encourage children to try new things, make new friends and gain independence.
