Board of Commissioners
The Park District is governed by a Board of Park District Commissioners composed of seven members. The President of the Board is elected from among its members for a two year term. The Secretary and Treasurer of the District are appointed by the Board. The Park District employs a full-time Executive Director of Parks and Recreation and other Department Heads for the administration, programming and maintenance of park facilities. The district also has membership and participates in the activities of State and National Professional Park Organizations.

Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase For West Chicago Park District
A public hearing to approve a property tax levy increase for West Chicago Park District for 2013 will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at 157 W Washington Street, West Chicago, Illinois.

The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2012 were $2,235,227.97. The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2013 are $2,433,500.00. This represents an 8.87% increase over the previous year.
The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2012 were $1,861,034.26. The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2013 are $1,508,755.00. This represents an 18.93% decrease over the previous year.
The total property taxes extended or abated for 2012 were $4,096,262.23. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2013 are $3,942,255.00. This represents a .38% decrease over the previous year.
