Community High School Open Gym

Dear Parents and Coaches,
I would like to invite your players to open gym nights here at the high school during the rest of April, May and June.  These dates and times are for your sons to come and play basketball.  The month of April is a little scrambled, but when May starts the days will be every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30pm.  FH = Field House    SG = Small Gym      BG = Bishop Gym

I will be coming around to the feeder schools to talk about Summer Camps, tell the kids to listen out for the announcements!  Thanks you for all your help and support this past season, we look forward to them coming to West Chicago Comm. High School and being part of our basketball family!

Coed Bitty Basketball (grades 1 & 2): This program is designed for youth in grades 1& 2. Participants will learn the fundamentals of basketball in a fun and encouraging manner. Registration Deadline:

Coed Jr. Hot Shots (grades 3 & 4): This program is designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball for both boys and girls. Participants will learn the rules of the game, team play, dribbling skills, shooting skills, and offensive and defensive movements. Emphasis is placed on having fun and learning experience. All players will practice the first two Saturdays as a group then be divided into teams for league play on Saturdays. Coaches will announce weekday practice times once teams are formed. Please wear loose fitting clothing and gym shoes.Registration Deadline:

Hot Shots (grades 5, 6, 7, 8): This program will have the same structure and include the same points of emphasis as the Jr. Hot Shots. The 5th and 6th grade league works with the West Chicago and Winfield Park Districts while the 7th and 8th grade league also works with Warrenville Park District. Both players who have played previously and newcomers to the sport will improve their fundamental skills by participating in this program. Practices will be at the coaches discretion and facility availability.

5th and 6th Grade:

7th and 8th grade:

Tri Town Girls (grades 5, 6, 7, 8): This league is for girls and is played between West Chicago, Winfield and Warrenville Park Districts. The season length will be determined by the number of teams that are registered in the league. The will be a post season tournament following the regular season. Games will be played on the weekends with some weekday games throughout the season. Practices will be at the coaches discretion and facility availability. Registration Deadline
